Shame Gallery opened in the Autumn of 2021 in the Sablon area of Brussels. Its mission is to provide a platform for emerging artists who are often marginalised in the artworld: Shame is the first fine art gallery of Belgium that focuses on queer and LGBT+ artists. While primarily focusing on painting and sculpture, the gallery frequently exhibits drawing, photography, video and installation art. During its short lifespan, Shame’s vernissages and finnisage’s have already established themselves as cutting edge events, with concerts, performances and happenings. Shame Gallery invites its visitors to support the gallery mission and engage with forward-thinking art that opens up new perspectives.
